The Cuevas family has a rich history in the cigar business spanning four generations, starting with Juan Cuevas, a Spanish immigrant who cultivated tobacco in Cuba's Pinar del Rio province in the 19th century. Juan's son, Juan Jr., continued the family tradition and successfully expanded the business until circumstances in 1959 forced a drastic change.

The Cuevas legacy lives on today in the Dominican Republic, where Luis Cuevas Sr. and his son, Luis Jr., handcraft premium long filler cigars at Tabacalera Las Lavas in Santiago. After years of manufacturing exceptional cigars for other brands, the time has come for the Cuevas family to showcase their expertise and produce a high-end cigar under their own name.
